Lindsay is a member of the Manitoba Métis Federation (Red River Métis) who has grown up and worked in Winnipeg throughout her life. She attended the University of Victoria, graduating with a Juris Doctor and Juris Indigenarium Doctor (JID). The specialized nature of the JID incorporates teachings on various Indigenous legal orders throughout Turtle Island and makes connections on how the legal orders interact with Canadian law.

Before attending law school, Lindsay worked as a legal assistant and paralegal at Legal Aid Manitoba for eight years in the areas of Child Protection, Family and Criminal Law as well as in the private sector focused on Civil Litigation and Insurance Law.

Lindsay focused much of her legal studies on developing frameworks to improve areas of Canadian law wherein Indigenous people have been largely over-represented, in attempts to uncover traditional solutions. Lindsay’s specialty is in drafting Indigenous laws for First Nations to develop their own legal framework.

Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys getting out on the land, being by the water, listening to music and sharing meals with family and friends.
