Makaylah Head
Makaylah is a dedicated legal assistant supporting Kate Wagar in Child Protection Law with Métis Child and Family Services, where she assists in drafting petitions, affidavits, motions, and court orders.
In 2024, she graduated with honours, earning an advanced degree in Indigenous Governance with a minor in Business. During her studies, Makaylah was actively involved in several student initiatives, including the Neechiwalken Peer Mentorship Program, University 1’s Student Council, and the Indigenous Circle of Empowerment.
Makaylah is deeply committed to upholding the sovereignty of Indigenous peoples and advancing meaningful reconciliation. She celebrates Indigenous resilience through her role as Volunteer Coordinator at the Manito Ahbee Festival. Grounded in the work of generations before her, she takes pride in fostering a spirit of reciprocity and leadership among younger generations.
