We're proud to announce that Nisha Sikka has joined our team as Counsel in the Vancouver office. Nisha represents Indigenous clients across a wide range of legal areas, including civil litigation, consent-based decision making, consultation and accommodation, economic development, governance, and specific claims.
Nisha has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia as well as the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Specific Claims Tribunal. She has also appeared before the Provincial Court of Manitoba and the Court of King’s Bench in Manitoba. Her deep knowledge and litigation experience allow her to support clients in navigating complex legal landscapes with clarity and determination.
Beyond her legal practice, Nisha is committed to trauma-informed lawyering and promoting access to justice. She has dedicated her career to ensuring that Indigenous voices are heard and respected within Canada’s legal system. Her leadership roles with the Canadian Bar Association and the Specific Claims Research Centre further reflect her ongoing contributions to advancing reconciliation and systemic change.
Outside of her professional life, Nisha enjoys travel, exploration, swimming, and reading that reflect her curiosity and balance in life.
